Trevor Whymark and Eric Gates were amongst those inducted into the club’s Hall of Fame at Friday night’s ex-players’ dinner. Also added were Sir Alf Ramsey’s coach Jimmy Forsyth and former player Basil Acres, who both picked up posthumous Special Merit Awards.

The 20-year-old, a product of Town Academy, has recently broken back into the first team and along with Andy Drury is keeping senior players such as Jimmy Bullard and Grant Leadbitter out of the side.

Russell Osman says 15-year-old schoolboy Byron Lawrence wasn’t the least bit fazed by facing players in some cases three years older than him during last night’s 2-0 FA Youth Cup victory over Leeds. The Cambridgeshire-based youngster, who recently signed a two-year scholarship with the Blues starting next summer, impressed Town's U18s coach, although he says there are aspects of his game the midfielder needs to improve.
